6 inch mac
I built a hingled type of focuser. It allows for close focusing when using a diagonal and far focusing (4 or 5 inches). The focuser is very solid but hope to change the gear to a worm gear arrangement.
A fork equitorial mount is used. It's now pretty solid. I used 2 inch 1/8 inch channel aluminum and used the Alumalloy type product. Some 1/4 inch plate is thrown in for good measure.
Homemade worm gear. There are some very good sites on making them. I plan on adding a section to give my own guidance on making them. It is a difficult undertaking.
